For my 50th birthday, I want to raise $50,000 for Cura's 50 kids!
Please help me reach my goal... it's the ONLY thing I want for my birthday on September 5th!
Cura: 50 for 50! A Project of Creative Visions Fiscal Sponsorship
If you are at this page, you probably already know that I've been involved with Cura Orphanage for nearly 12 years now, helping Cura's leaders pay the costs and do the work to raise and educate 50 orphaned kids. Since that beginning in 2016, I have come to know each of these kids by name, hearing their stories, encouraging their studies, grieving their losses, and celebrating their successes together over the years. I'm deeply proud of our oldest kids, like Carol (in photo above) who are going on to post-secondary education and really making a run at life, despite its inauspicious start.
Carol and her Cura siblings have all gotten older, and so have I... and I want to mark my 50th birthday milestone by raising as much money as I can to propel the youngest of our kids through their secondary school lives. Teenagers have bigger expenses than small children do, so Cura's expenses are increasing -- will you please help me make 2018 my best fundraising year yet?
If you might have spent any money on me this year, anyway, please donate instead. If you are looking for a totally tax deductible place to stash extra cash, please donate here. If you weren't going to give any charitable donations this year, please considering making an exception, just this once! If a big donation isn't possible in one lump sum, consider establishing a monthly donation through 2018.
I'm considering 2018 my "birthday year," so my actual birthday doesn't matter much -- I'll tally any donations made through this site or in my name (some of you aren't comfortable with online donations, so please fee free to mail checks to me directly*) and keep you all updated.
Asante sana, in advance.
(I seriously can't believe I'm turning 50.)
